How and Why to Leave a Legacy
Why Leave a Legacy?
Thinking about writing a will can feel difficult yet it is one of the most meaningful ways to care for the people and causes that matter most. Many people don’t realise that, after taking care of loved ones, even a small gift can make a profound difference to a charity like Sutton Lodge.
By choosing to remember us in your will, you will help us:
-
Continue providing a warm and welcoming place for older people
-
Offer daily activities that support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing
-
Provide nutritious meals that help promote independent living
-
Reduce loneliness and isolation in our community
-
Maintain and improve our facilities, ensuring they remain safe and accessible
-
Plan confidently for the future of our services
Your generosity helps us build long-term stability and invest in the future of Sutton Lodge ensuring it remains a lifeline for those who need it most.
Thank you for considering such a special and impactful gift.
What Your Gift Could Mean
Every legacy gift helps us shape the future of Sutton Lodge. Whatever the amount, your kindness will be used where it is needed most to support senior people in our community.
For example, your gift could help us:
-
Provide hot meals for members throughout the year
-
Fund wellbeing and social activities that bring people together
-
Support transport for members who would otherwise be unable to attend
-
Improve accessibility, safety, and comfort within the Lodge
-
Invest in long-term facilities and services for future generations
Your legacy ensures that our doors remain open, our meals remain warm, and our community remains strong.
Types of Gifts You Can Leave
There are several ways you can choose to remember Sutton Lodge in your will:
Residuary Gift
A share of your estate after other gifts, expenses, and commitments have been settled. This type of gift often has the greatest impact.
Pecuniary Gift
A fixed sum of money specified in your will.
Specific Gift
An item of value—such as property, jewellery, or other possessions—that we may use or sell to support our work.
We are deeply grateful for every gift, large or small.
