About Us
The Sutton Old People's Welfare Committee became a registered charity in 1981 with a purpose to provide a service and facility that helps and includes our older generation. Our day centre is held at Sutton Lodge, the oldest building in Sutton with a fantastic history. Every day at Sutton Lodge Day Centre is different, but here is a rundown of what you can expect:
-
We have access to two wheelchair-accessible minibuses, which will come and pick you up from your home to bring you to our day centre
-
Settle into the centre over a cup of tea, biscuits and a chat
-
Morning activities will begin, these can be:
-
Arts and crafts
-
Games and quizzes
-
Gentle exercise
-
Music and singing
-
Reminiscence sessions
-
Seasonal events and celebration
-
-
A freshly-prepared two course hot lunch will be served by our wonderful volunteers
-
More activities will be organised for after lunch
-
When the day is over, the minibus will drop you back to your home at an agreed time
Our Mission
Through our staff and mainly volunteers we run Sutton Lodge Day Centre and also provide volunteers for the borough Meals on Wheels Service.
We are committed to giving older residents in the borough the opportunity to socialise, retain independence and to access the community services
